About Rauris and the SalzburgerLand Area

Rauris is in the heart of the SalzburgerLand area, this is a vast skiing area that Rauris is a part of and gives the skier chance to not only ski local in Rauris, but to also explore the surrounding areas as well. Rauris has 20 pistes with a total length of 30 kilometres (19 miles) and has a mixture of cable car, chair lift and drag lifts. For a full understanding of the ski area, please visit www.raurisertal.at for a full visual of the slopes to hand. This web site is run by the local Tourism and has a wealth of information about Rauris, the local amenities and what there is to do in the village day and night.

Rauris is geared towards families, there is an excellent ski school there for young children as well as adults and the ski area is very safe. The slopes are all very accessible and there is a large restaurant situated on the mountain next to the main cable car that will offer you a great lunch with spectacular views of the surrounding snow capped mountains.

If Rauris does not satisfy your skiing appetite enough, there is a fantastic scheme called the Salzburg Super Ski Card that allows over 2,200 km of freedom on the slopes! It is accepted in 23 major ski regions of the Salzburgerland and neighbouring areas, giving you access to 2,200 km of amazing skiing.

Take advantage of season passes, weekly passes or you pick the day options available between November 08th, 2008 and May 3rd, 2009, so that you can get out and ski whenever the mood takes you and the weather permits.
